Privacy notice for the immersive experience

What the experience records

The immersive player creates an anonymous session identifier to understand whether the technology works and how the experience is used. It may record:

• Whether the site opened and the film started or completed
• Whether interactive 360 or full VR was selected
• Broad device and browser type
• Whether the browser reported WebXR support
• Progress milestones, buffering, and technical errors
• Approximate country and state or region supplied by the hosting network
• The referring website domain or campaign label
• Whether the session was marked as a device test

Browser storage and technical delivery

The site uses session storage for the anonymous session identifier. If a technical event cannot be delivered immediately, the browser may temporarily queue that event in local storage and retry later.

The program database does not intentionally store raw IP addresses. Cloudflare and the secure video host may process network information required to deliver the website, protect it, and stream the film.

What the immersive player does not request

• Student names
• Student email addresses
• Birth dates
• Home addresses
• Student accounts

Information from the immersive player is used to operate the experience, troubleshoot technical problems, and report aggregate use. It is not sold or used for targeted advertising.

Device checks and official metrics

Sessions opened with ?test=1 are stored as test sessions and excluded from official impact metrics. Website visits are not automatically presented as verified students reached.

Schools and districts may review this notice and their own policies before classroom use. This notice describes the current technical implementation and does not replace school or district privacy requirements.
